Oranges
If you've been following my work for a while, you may remember a series of small watercolors that I began in 2011 that I referred to as "Artifacts." These paintings were essentially life-sized watercolor portraits of small objects that began with translucent slabs of agate and slices of tomato and ultimately grew to include many other kinds of fruits and vegetables, fall leaves, tea bags, birds, paintbrushes and tubes of oil paint, shells, stones,...and the list goes on. I made hundreds of these paintings over the course of several years. I had eventually shifted my focus away from this series but once in a while I'll get a special request. Since these paintings are made from observation of an actual orange that I slice and eat, it doesn't make sense to just make one painting ;)
Each painting is hand-painted and one-of-a-kind (no prints!). Click on an image for details, pricing, and availability. You may also be interested in my collection of Leaves.
All available work can be purchased through my Shop or you can contact me to purchase directly from my Studio. If you're looking for something specific, I can create a custom painting for you!
