If you've been following my work for a while, you may remember a series of small watercolors that I began in 2011 that I referred to as "Artifacts." These paintings were essentially life-sized watercolor portraits of small objects that began with translucent slabs of agate and slices of tomato and ultimately grew to include many other kinds of fruits and vegetables, fall leaves, tea bags, birds, paintbrushes and tubes of oil paint, shells, stones....and the list goes on. I made hundreds of these paintings over the course of several years.
While I have shifted my focus away from this series I still look forward to painting a new batch of Leaves every fall, just for fun. Below are the most recent Leaves (2020-present): click on an image for details, pricing and availability.
